What does this tool check?
Enter a URL above and the tool will fetch the page and check its title tag, meta description, canonical URL, robots directives, viewport, character encoding, language and favicon – flagging anything missing or likely to cause SEO problems.
Why does title and description length matter?
Search engines truncate titles and descriptions that are too long, and pages with no title or description at all tend to rank and click through worse. Aiming for roughly 50–60 characters for a title and 120–160 characters for a description keeps both fully visible in search results.
What is a canonical URL?
A canonical tag tells search engines which version of a page is the "main" one when the same content is reachable at more than one URL (with or without tracking parameters, for example). Without one, search engines have to guess, which can split ranking signals across duplicate pages.
What does a meta robots tag do?
<meta name="robots"> tells search engines whether to index a page and whether to follow its links. A value of noindex means the page won't appear in search results at all, so it's worth double-checking this hasn't been left on by accident.
Are meta keywords still used?
No. All major search engines have ignored the meta keywords tag for years, so its presence or absence has no effect on rankings – it's shown here purely for completeness.
