How to convert HEIC to ICO

Drop your HEIC files into the box at the top of the page, or click it to browse your files. The converter makes a copy of each one in ICO format, and you can download them one by one or all at once. You can convert up to 30 images at a time, with a maximum file size of 8 MB each.

You can also resize your images and strip out metadata like EXIF data and GPS location while you convert. We store your images for an hour before we permanently delete them.

Converting HEIC to ICO

HEIC is typically used for photos taken on an iPhone, where small files save phone storage, while ICO is used for favicons and Windows icons.

What changes when I convert HEIC to ICO?

Icons are limited to 256 by 256 pixels. Larger images are scaled down to fit, and smaller ones are never enlarged.

Your browser may not be able to show a preview of HEIC files, but they still convert as normal.

Understanding HEIC

HEIC is the format iPhones and many newer cameras use for photos. It keeps files small, but many websites, apps and older systems cannot open it.

Understanding ICO

ICO is the Windows icon format, also used for website favicons. Icons here are limited to 256 by 256 pixels.

Once your images are converted, the colour converter can help you translate any hex, RGB or CMYK values you're working with into whichever format your design tools need next.
